Sisters

I swear these two are best friends already!! They both just love being together. I can't wait until they can play together. Claire is so gentle and sweet with Aubrey...she strokes her head softly and gives her kisses. Aubrey wants to look at Claire and listen to her everytime she is in the room. Claire wanted to get into Aubrey's crib with her, so we let her (but kept a close eye on them). Yes Claire is wearing Christmas pajamas but that's how we roll these days...whatever I grab first. I want to post pictures of my sister and I when we were little but I need to scan them first...my girls remind me of how lucky I am to have a sister and all of the wonderful memories I have of us growing up!!!

Big Girl

Aubrey and I like to hang out and play while Claire is at school! She is getting so big...she is 9 weeks old tomorrow and weighs 9 pounds! She is such a good, happy baby. Her favorite things to do are cuddle, watch her mobile in her crib and she LOVES to look at and listen to her big sister. I love holding her and i don't even mind getting up at night with her because I know it won't last forever. I broke down and ate pizza with cheese the other day and it kept her up all night...Brad eventually went to sleep on the couch and the next day he paid me the best compliment..he said "I couldn't do what you do". They are hard work but there is nothing in this world I would rather be doing then this!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! I am so blessed to have two beautiful, healthy girls and a great husband who is also a wonderful Daddy! Of course I dressed them in matching dresses for church. Both girls were so good in church (we sat in the main area, not the cry room).

The Ranch

This weekend we went to Brad's step mom's ranch outside of Brownwood Tx. It's only about a 2 1/2 hour drive and it is gorgeous!!! Tommy was such a great host and there was tons to do for the kids. When we pulled up Friday night we discovered a goat had just had 3 babies a few minutes earlier! Claire loved the baby goats, the donkeys, lama and cows. Brad's sister, her husband and my nephew Daniel were also there visiting. We rode 4 wheelers, Brad and Robert shot their guns, we explored the land and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It will be a great place to come back to as the kids get older and can truly enjoy everything the ranch has to offer!

Hello Pig Tails, Goodbye Dairy

I can finally put Claire's straight, fine hair into pig tails!!! I think they look so cute on her and they make her look so much older. I swear I look at her sometimes and she looks like a kid, not a baby anymore...especially compared to her sister. She even leaves them in for school! Next step...a pony tail. At this rate she will be 3 before she has enough hair for that though! Aubrey has been super gassy, fussy and spits up a lot lately and she seems to be in pain. I decided to see if dairy is the culprit since I drink lots of milk and eat cheese and yogurt all day. Well, after 2 days of absolutely no dairy (not even if it's a small ingredient in something) she is a different baby! I don't have to change her clothes and sheets every few hours because of all the spit up...that is practically all gone. She is MUCH less fussy now too. The question now is how long can I live without dairy. You realize this means no chocolate!!! I would do anything to make her not hurt so it looks like I'm in this for awhile. Oh well, should help me get this last 15 pounds off. The pictures of Aubrey and Claire in their matching dresses is pre no-dairy diet obviously! I love dressing them alike. Just wait for Easter pics!!!

Mellow Yellow

I'm really getting the hang of being a Mom of two girls. It helps that Aubrey is such a good baby and Claire has been a wonderful big sister! I'm changing a lot of diapers...I can't wait to get Claire potty trained this summer. Bath time can be tricky since I have to watch them constantly, and it's really hard for me to get a shower in these days (sorry Brad). Today Claire pulled up her shirt to feed her bear...I am still feeding Aubrey every 2-3 hours. I have been cleared to work out again so I am anxious to get this last 20 pounds off so I can fit into my clothes. By accident I dressed them both in yellow (must have been the mood I was in) so I decided to snap a few pictures. Claire is so gentle with Aubrey and Aubrey loves to stop whatever she is doing to watch and listen to Claire when she is nearby. I think they are going to be best friends!
