It's Sweater Weather

Finally the temperature is starting to drop and I can dress Claire in all of her cute sweaters. My friend Jeanne gave Claire this beautiful sweater and hat and I just had to take some pictures of her in them!

Hap-Bee Halloween!

I realize it's not quite Halloween yet, but we went to a Halloween party for the kiddos this weekend and we got to dress Claire up in her first costume! She is a Bumble Bee this year. Surprisingly, she kept her wings and antenna on for the party! All of her friends looked so cute dressed up. When we got home we lit the pumpkin and took some pictures of Claire without her costume on...she looks like a ninja. It was lots of fun and we are looking forward to taking Claire trick-or-treating on Friday.

Our Little Pumpkin

Since it is Claire's first Halloween, we let her play with the pumpkin guts! She loved the way they felt...and tasted. The pumpkin we got this year is really big so we carved it out and put Claire in it for some cute pictures. While we were outside taking her picture, people driving by actually stopped to watch because she is just too cute! She was freezing...but luckily there were some dogs in the car that stopped so she perked up!

Boo Aunt Judy!

Yesterday Claire got a package in the mail form my Aunt Judy! I knew right away it was going to be fun to open because Aunt Judy is the most creative, thoughtful person I know. Sure enough there was a Halloween bag for Trick-or -Treating, some adorable Halloween outfits and some great holiday decorations! All had Judy's crafty touch! Thank you so much Aunt Judy...we think about you and Ashley often and we miss you so much!!!

Think Inside the Box

Someone has a new favorite place to play...the entertainment center in the guest bedroom...

Camo for Girls

What does camouflage look like for girls? Apparently it's pink with brown polka dots. Grandmom sent Claire this cute outfit, and it turns out it matches her bedding exactly! You have to look closely to find Claire in these pics...

Tagged

OK, I was tagged by my friend Mere's blog...so here are 7 random things about me:
1) I HATE loose/wiggly teeth. If a kid has a loose tooth I can't stand to see it move around. And watching a kid try to pull out a loose tooth is like torture for me.
2) When I empty the silverware from the dishwasher, I just throw it in the drawer. You will never see my silverware organized. The same pretty much goes for any closet or drawer in my house.
3) On road trips I try to go as far as I can without stopping to go to the bathroom. I have been known to go from Lubbock to Houston (9 hrs.) stopping once for gas ONLY.
4) Going to the grocery store is my least favorite thing to do in the world. If I could pay someone to shop for me I would. Speaking of shopping...I need my sister, Sonia, my Mom or Brad to help me shop for clothes...otherwise I am hopeless.
5) I don't know how to cook. I can mess up ANY recipe and have been known to make salad out of cabbage. Also, I have thrown out countless chickens because I am convinced they are not cooked...I usually need Brad to convince me that chicken is cooked all the way.
6) I am obsessed with eyebrows. I will notice in 2 seconds if someones eyebrows need to be tweezed/waxed. It is one of thew first features on a persons face that I notice.
7) I cry when I am buying a card for someone. It is rare that I can leave the card isle without tears in my eyes.

Wow....reading those back...I sound a little crazy. I tag Vandi, Heather and Sarah.

More Fair Pics

Texas State Fair

On Monday we went to the State Fair! We thought it wouldn't be crowded on a Monday until we got there and realized it was a holiday (Columbus Day) and that half of Texas decided to go the same day we did. Anyways, we went last year when I was pregnant and were excited to take Claire to her first fair. She had so much fun. She absolutely LOVED the jumping dog show, the petting zoo, the aquarium and people watching. No rides for her this year yet. Brad and I loved the food...I had a corn dog, a fried s'more (yum) and a turkey leg! Claire was a trooper all day and finally fell asleep on the way back to the car. Can't wait to go back next year!

The Getup

In honor of Aunt Alli's birthday, I thought I would dress Claire up in one of Alli's infamous "getups". When we were little, Alli used to raid Mom's closet and put on anything/everything she could find. She always had a ton of accessories on (visors/hats, scarfs, sunglasses, necklaces, high heels, etc.) Today she is still the most stylish person I know...I hope Claire can go to her for fashion advice someday! Happy birthday Alli!

Swing!

Well, all it took was seeing Claire smile on the swings at the park for her Daddy to run out and by one for her! How are we ever going to say no to that face? Anyways, we had a great time Sat. afternoon cooking out and swinging in the backyard. Thanks Daddy!

Pumpkin Patch

Claire and I went with our Mom's group to a pumpkin patch today! It was lots of fun and I got a ton of pictures. There was even a scarecrow that read some stories. Claire also got to play with some of her friends from the group. We had a great time and brought home a little pumpkin to remember our fun day! Then a bunch of us went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch!
