Brad and I live in Arlington Texas. We were married on April 6th, 2002 and have two beautiful girls. Claire was born on Feb.2nd 2008 and Aubrey on Feb. 17th 2010. We use our blog to keep family and friends updated on our lives. Enjoy!
This year I decided I didn't have the energy/money to throw a big, extravagant birthday party for the girls. So we had a very nice, small family party for Claire's 3rd and Aubrey's 1st birthday. It was a Princess theme of course. My parents and brother came and Brad sister and her family came along with Brad's Aunt and Uncle. The weather was great and the girls had a blast. Thank you family for the gifts and love and thank you everyone for wishing the girls and I a happy birthday and thank you Brad for celebrating three girly birthdays this month!!!
Never has a year of my life gone by as fast as this one has. I really can't believe Aubrey is one already! It went by way too fast. I was a little teary eyed the day before her birthday because she just isn't a baby anymore. Aubrey can crawl on all fours and cruise the furniture all day long. She loves to pull up on anything, bother Claire and mess up anything Claire is playing with and most of all...she loves to dance! She has way more hair then Claire did at one...but she only has two bottom teeth so far. I am still breastfeeding her twice a day, but I think we are just about done. I can switch her over to milk now so no more expensive formula! Knock on wood...Aubrey has never had a fever or ear infection. She is a healthy little girl. She isn't walking yet, I'm guessing it will be a few months before she is a pro at that. She is 17.5 pounds and 27.5 in long. The Dr. says I have two petite girls. Every time we go out I hear "She has beautiful eyes" or "She is such a happy baby" or "She is so tiny". All true ;) I love her so much and look forward to seeing what this next year holds for her.
My cousin Ashley flew down from New Jersey for Super Bowl weekend. She is a big Steelers fan and we only get to see her every other year so we thought it would be fun to show her around DFW. She flew in on Sat and we immediately took her to eat at Pappasitos! After we quickly went home and showed her around the house we got back in the car and went to the Ft Worth Stockyards where she rode a mechanical bull, saw the cattle come down the street, watched Claire ride a pony, ate Bar-B-Q and bought some souvenirs. Then we went downtown to check out ESPN and all of the fans. It was so much fun! On Sunday we went to the stadium to really get a feel of the game day atmosphere. We had a party that night to watch the game. Thanks Ash for watching the girls while I got some things done! On Monday I took her to Dallas to the Galleria for some more food and shopping. We had a great visit...the girls loved having her here!
Last week we were stuck at home because of the ice and snow. It made me thankful to not live in a place that deals with this weather all of the time. However, we did enjoy playing in the snow for a day. Brad worked form home most of the week so that was...nice. ;) Aubrey wasn't sure what to make of the snow. Claire loved it and ate it. I was obsessed with figuring out what all of the animal tracks were. I swear a one hoofed deer ran across our front yard...
I just can't believe I have a three year old. Brad and I have said we can believe she is 3 because she talks and acts like she is seven, but still. Claire is so bright, sweet, funny, beautiful and such a good big sister. she is growing up way too fast but I couldn't be more proud to be her Mommy! We were snowed in on her birthday so Daddy was home! I hung streamers from her door so when she woke up she had to walk through them. I sang to her and then we jumped into my bed to open presents! She got princess big girl panties, crayons, a new Barbie movie, a brush and a Leapster2 with 2 games that she loves. Now maybe Brad can have his phone back ;) We are having a Princess birthday party for the girls with family in a few weeks. Happy Birthday Claire. I love you so much!
We started going to a yoga class for kids once a week with some friends! They read books and learn about things like the moon and sun. Claire is pretty good at the yoga moves and AJ likes to watch and roll around. They get a healthy snack after class and today the teacher came by each mat and gave foot rubs with lotion for the kids. I kinda wanted to stick my feet out, but I didn't. It's free and we usually all go to lunch after so it makes for a fast morning!
