Full Moon

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Friday night we went out to eat with friends, Saturday we went to the mall to do some shopping and let Claire ride the carousel and eat lunch. We bought the wall stickers you see in the pictures... Claire was avoiding a diaper at the time and just happened to run over to the word "moon" with her cute butt sticking out!!! We also went to church Sat. night because it was Father Joe's 50th anniversary of being in the priesthood. He baptized Claire. Sunday we went to a pool party (Claire loved the water and we had a great time as well) and today Brad took Claire for a jog in the jogging stroller and this afternoon he is going to the Rangers/Yankees game! We are also remembering all of those brave men and women who serve our great country.

Goodbye Mimi

We got back last night from Brad's Moms funeral and burial. We drove to Lubbock on Sat. The viewing was on Sunday and the funeral on Monday. Both were very difficult but the amount of friends and family that came to support Brad and his family was amazing. This was the first funeral I have ever been to so I was kind of a mess...sorry Brad for having to comfort me at times instead of the other way around. I didn't want Claire to see her Mimi because I want all of her memories to be of Mimi alive and happy. There was always someone there to babysit Claire and that was so helpful. We drove to College Station after the funeral on Monday for the burial on Tuesday. My parents met us there and again it was a beautiful service. We know Mimi is at peace now. We will miss her, but I will try my best to make sure Claire knows how much Mimi loved her!

Fun in the Sun

It was a hot one today so I put Claire in her bathing suit and let her splash around. The water was freezing! She had fun at times and hated it at others (you might be able to tell from her expression.) I'm glad we have this for those 100 degree days that aren't too far away...

Slide and Haircut

I ran to Toys R Us this morning and bought Claire a slide. She loves it!!!! I also bought one of those slpash pads that you hook the hose up to but I think I'll wait until it's really hot to get that out. Also, I cut Claire's hair for the first time...just trimmed the back and sides a little. Enjoy!

More Pictures from Lubbock

Claire LOVED the science Spectrum. Brad and I skipped classes one day when we were in college to go play at the Science Spectrum...who knew we would be taking our daughter there 10 years later! I've never seen her play so hard for so long. I kept saying "this is the best $15 I've ever spent!" I love that she's not shy...there were about 8 bus loads of school kids and she held her own with the big kids...fearless. We've decided we need to get her a slide. She spent an hour playing on one. She also liked the dinosaur and the fish. The other pictures are from the rest of our time there!

Visiting Mimi

We left for Lubbock last Tuesday when we got the news that Brad's Mom was not doing well and was given only days to weeks to live. We were able to enjoy six days with her and the rest of the family. Although she was very tired and uncomfortable, she was able to enjoy her time with her grandchildren. We got to meet our new nephew Daniel, and Claire was able to get out and play while we were there! We took her to the Science Spectrum, the park, out to eat, the church playground and anywhere else where she could wear herself out! It was very hard to say goodbye but we are thankful for these special moments we got to have with her.
